History

During my career as an executive in large clinical development companies, I had the opportunity to lead teams, manage complex projects and participate in significant initiatives that shaped the sector mainly in Brazil, such as the Clinical Research Law (14.874/2024). However, I realized that many organizations faced unique challenges.

And throughout the process there is plenty of room for the work with the research sites to be improved, empowering the sites to carry out work with even greater excellence, a major objective of the benchmarking initiative.

About me

I'm Paulo Fernandes, a professional with extensive experience in international clinical trials in different phases and therapeutic areas. I worked mainly in global and regional CROs, managing studies promoted by the pharmaceutical, biotechnology industry and governments.
I was a member of ABRACRO (Brazilian Association of CROs) for 10 years, 4 of them as President of the Executive Board, a period in which the association doubled in size, supporting initiatives to defend, educate and promote Clinical Research in Brazil and Latin America.
My experiences have given me unique insight into the customization required for clinical development solutions in our region.

Approach

My approach is centered on quality, inclusion and diversity in clinical trials. From the beginning, I design my solutions with a specific focus on the client's needs, considering budget and the current state of things. Regarding recruitment, we work on inclusion and diversity, ensuring adequate representation of different populations from the beginning. I strictly implement the ICH-GCP guidelines and invest heavily in training and continuous studies to improve the quality of deliveries and support the solution development process. I fundamentally believe in the Research Center as central to the process of successful clinical research.
